    PTSI Online Learning System

    Email:

     Students,

The online Blended Learning LMS system is being updated. Click on this link that shows the changes and new features. We ask that each student takes the time necessary to review this systems new functionality and look. There is a system review course that will be available after the data is transferred (on Oct 7, 2020) and is available to all apprentices. The course will take you through the features and changes of the new system. The Toledo Electrical JATC will be migrating data to the new system on Tuesday Oct 6, 2020. Feel free to send an email to  the toledojatc@tejatc.org with any questions you may have.

Question: Where will my data go? Are you saving it?

Answer: This type of process is very common. All of your user data is saved and is just being transferred to a new system. This new system will just have a new look and added functions.

We will also have information on the “BLOG”.

Have a great day and stay safe!

Questions related to contractor projects being shut down:

When a contractor shuts-down a specific project due to COVID-19 Virus, what are the options for apprentices?

Option) Receive layoff and report to JATC for other training assignments as available.

Option) Wait, voluntary for that contractors for work to pick up.

*** As stated above, an apprentice cannot be forced to wait and will receive a clean layoff. Furthermore, separate documentation (IBEW/NECA COVID-19 agreement) indicates in these situations the apprentice can receive sub-fund and will not be denied unemployment.

When an apprentice is sick from COVID-19 Virus and/or is quarantined because of travel the apprentice should wait until cleared, what is the option for the apprentice?

Option) Any apprentice in quarantine is to stay in that position until cleared. If no work is available when they are cleared because of the COVID-19 virus situation then they should be treated and given the same options as indicated in the statement above “When a contractor shuts-down a specific project due to COVID-19 Virus”.

    COVID-19 Update

Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity

Thank you for being a valuable partner in our efforts to combat the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Following the announcement of the state’s first presumptive positive cases of COVID-19, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) are providing recommendations designed to help prevent the spread of the virus. These recommendations apply at the individual, organizational, and community levels. They apply to businesses, workplaces, schools, community organizations, health care institutions, and individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and health profiles; everyone has an important role to play. Please take a moment to review the Interim Recommendations to Mitigate the Spread of COVID-19 (March 11, 2020). Information about this outbreak is changing rapidly. You can stay informed by regularly visiting Michigan.gov/Coronavirus and CDC.gov/Coronavirus.

    Office - 03/12/2020

Use good hygiene practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases.

As you know, a global outbreak of a respiratory disease named Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) started in China in late 2019. The virus has been detected in more than 90 countries, including the U.S.

Today, the overall threat to the general public and in the U.S. remains low, but we are approaching this emerging threat to public health with an abundance of caution. As our partner, we want you to have appropriate information on what individuals can do to protect themselves.

The Ohio Department of Health makes the following recommendations to protect yourself from illness:

    • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; dry hands with a clean towel or air-dry hands.
    • Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer with 60% alcohol when soap and water are unavailable.
    • Cover your mouth with a tissue or sleeve when sneezing or coughing. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Stay home if you are sick and advise others to do the same.
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces (computers, keyboards, desks, etc.).

Ohio's coronavirus call center is open to answer questions from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The hotline number is 1-833-4-ASK-ODH or 1-833-427-5634.

Office - 01/05/2020 - The TEJATC is expanding the office area of the building and we are getting close to getting back in the new space. The office area expansion and renovation project provides a larger more accessible board room, better design of office space to allow instructor collaboration and breakout area. Before the renovation and addition instructors did not have their own space and shared office space with another instructor. Also some of the instructors did not work within the office and often had to work outside of the office area. Workflow and efficient operations has been the focus along with communications.

Website - 01/05/2020 - This is the first posting on the new website blog. We have been working hard to make the access to the Toledo Electrical JATC better for our members and sponsors. We are currently working on providing a better user experience with the new website and our new data base. We hope you enjoy course sign up being online and the email verification.
